Llano is nationally known as the “Deer Capital of Texas” and hosts many hunters seeking the abundance of white-tailed deer in the fall and winter seasons. The Llano Chamber of Commerce hosts a Hunters’ Welcome each Friday before deer season opens. The population of Llano County is estimated to increase from 6,000 to 8,000 each year due to hunters.
