On Sunday, May 8, 2005, Llano County Sheriff's Deputy Andrew Taylor was shot during a traffic stop at the intersection of Skyline and Dilley Street in Kingsland, Texas. Deputy Taylor was transported to the hospital where he died the next day from his wounds.

The suspect was on parole for a previous robbery conviction and had violated the terms of that parole. After a massive manhunt, the suspect was located. As officers moved in, he shot himself and later died from the wound.

Deputy Taylor served with the Llano County Sheriff's Office for three years.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of his untimely death.
